SUMMER SORCERESS – 75 Gms

$15.00

Summer Black Tea from Sikkim, made out of P312, T78 & Nanda Devi (TS 378) cultivars.

“I’m what the ordinary looks like when you notice it’s been there all along” says the magic to the sorceress. The sorceress – knowing what she knows, without knowing why she knows it – realizes why, for the first time. Magic isn’t acquired- it’s reacquired.

With lost vocabularies – provenance more pleasing than etymology – expressing things we no longer can, comes the Summer Sorceress with her magic ‘re-acquired’; with her diffused awareness – knowing what she knows without knowing why she knows it. The intense fruitiness on the palate and aroma of ripe guavas with black salt marks the beginning of the suspicious season of the witch. Suspicion grows further as the herby aroma of fresh guava leaves emanating from the Sorceress’s brew gently ask – “Inhale”. One complies – more like succumbs, as the aroma of caramels that fills the room, allays all suspicion– nothing sinister this way comes! The why is now irrelevant – her magic takes seat – dictates in your own re-acquired vocabulary: “Like Sweet Red Winewoody and fruity but with Sweet Saffron Milkiness; like Lemons without sourness; a tanginess, a fruitiness fondly remembering the woody branch that bore it, an ancient jam of an unheard fruit and spices; like memory without recall”. The Sorceress’s magic is smooth, deep – how absurd to simplify it- begins with mystery and to mystery it returns but the revelations, the transformations in between – that’s where the magic resides.
