All I can say is that my life is pretty plain, I like watching the puddles gather rain, And all I can do Is just pour some tea for two, And speak my point of view, But it’s not sane, It’s not sane…
And I don’t understand why I sleep all day, And I start to complain that there’s no rain, And all I can do is read a book to stay awake, And it rips my life away, But it’s a great escape, It’s a great escape… – Shannon Hoon (Blindmelon – No Rain)
Searching for his tones of home, thinking it’s the land of milk and honey but only to find it’s all just hate and money, from underneath the canopy of greed holding him down, Hoon put a picture to the words accompanying his sad-sweet melody – A Bee Girl thinking Bee thoughts tap dancing her way through the strangeness of the world, seeking Bee Times in Bee Country with Bee People. Chances are, after you’ve sat long enough holding dearly what harrows you, there is no doubting anymore, where the sweetness comes from – no mistaking anymore, the ratios in which the sad and the sweet, making it complete- mix. Chances are even better; we’d have missed it altogether had we not come this far east.
The Bee Girl – a pilgrim of possibilities and true eastern promises – with her tones of home and land of Milk and Honey comes from settled bushes of AV2 in the Arunachal – eldest of the seven sisters of the east. There is no story, just a melody and a great escape – a simple, slow, steady, sweetness – one of honey and its unmistakable aroma – one that’ll always be there when you wake and a ripe, mellow, full-bodied yet smooth ‘Oolonged’ fruitiness that leaves pretty-little to be desired. Traipsing, cool notes of Sugar Icing and Honey doused fruits with the taste of of Honey with either Caramels or Grapes, sometimes both, make the beginning, the middle and the end of the tea – the Bee girl is unwavering, doesn’t relinquish an inch of its simplicity- utterly unimpressed by the enamoring complexity of its neighbors.
