Any description you find of the woody flavor, chances are, you’ll find the experience to be more pleasant than the description. What this tea won’t conjure images of are barrel aged scotch whiskey and mahogany bar-stools or damp lumber yards; but it most definitely evokes feeling of visiting long forgotten vintage book stores and rustic wood cabins. It’s not Burnt, smoked, roasted, incensed, ashey or any other thing done to wood- It’s just woody!! Ancient and Earthy – It marks the taste not of celebration but of arrival at some pioneered land or perspective.
This Second Flush with its whole leaf brews into a well-layered rich orange cup with abundant muscatel character and mouthful woody taste. Nuttiness is also apparent with the Muscatel leaning towards fruity. There’s also the noticeable mineral texture the tea inherits off the Darjeeling valleys it’s harvested from. The aftertaste lasts longer than the time it takes to drink the tea.
Brewing Instructions: 2.5 Gms for 3 Mins at 85-90 Degree Celcius
